KNITWEAR EXCELLENCE, SINCE 1949

HISTORY

1949

After 35 years’ experience in the silk sector, Leonello Spagnol establishes the Maglificio Leonello Spagnol knitwear factory in Valdobbiadene, producing knitwear for the Italian post-war market.

1960

These boom years for the Italian economy accompany great change: the Maglificio exports its entire production to the United States and Canada.

1969

Massimo, Leonello and Elisabetta’s son, joins his parents in the family business. Exports gradually shift from the USA to the German market. Massimo meets Francesca and the couple are soon married: together they start working with the first prêt-à-porter stylists, gaining valuable insight into the world of luxury fashion.

1978

The knitwear factory creates its own fashion brand, “I Leonidi”, produced for over 13 years, while demand from stylists around the world grows steadily.

1995

A continuously expanding market leads to the construction of new production premises in Montebelluna (TV). The knitwear factory consolidates its focus on catering to an increasingly sophisticated and demanding clientele.

2012

The third generation of the family, in the shape of brothers Edoardo and Riccardo, joins the company, guaranteeing continuity and fresh lifeblood. A period of great expansion leads the company to double the number of direct employees and to organize a second factory not far from its headquarters.

TODAY

Maglificio Leonello Spagnol continues to successfully partner top luxury brands, as it has for over 30 years, confirming its supremacy in the knitwear sector.
